Unlike a municipal government, they are not subject to the constitutional constraints that public government must abide by.

- The Mid Florida Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAC-CAI) serves the educational and networking needs of community associations in the greater Orlando and Central Florida area. Members include condominium, cooperative, and homeowner associations as well as those who provide services and products to associations.
- State of Florida Government website contains useful information for new residents and details concerning government services, agencies and state laws.
- Major city and county government websites are a great general purpose resource to understand community trends, profile data, newcomer’s information and neighborhood associations. Orlando, Apopka, Winter Springs, Lake Mary, Ocoee, Sanford and Oviedo all have useful municipal content. Orange and Seminole County sites have information on county services—as well as detailed information through the tax collector section.
- Residents of homeowner associations and condominium associations like to know comparative information on property evaluation for tax purposes. The Seminole County and Orange County Property Appraiser sites contain detailed information on each parcel of property in all community associations.
