- Arizona Condominium Act and the Arizona Planned Communities Act. There are generally two bodies of law that govern homeowner associations (HOAs), depending on which category they fall under: Condominium or Planned Community. The Condominium Act governs most condominium or townhouse communities in Arizona. The distinguishing feature is that ownership of the common areas is shared in common by all of the unit owners. The HOA does not own the common area outright in a condominium association.
- Arizona Nonprofit Corporation Act governs most nonprofit or not-for-profit corporations in Arizona, including HOAs. The Nonprofit Corporation Act sets forth many of the procedural and governance laws for Arizona nonprofit corporations. Sometimes the corporation's governing documents will control and sometimes the Nonprofit Corporation Act will control.
- The Arizona Association of Community Managers (AACM) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting a positive understanding of community associations and the contribution of professional management services in the development, establishment and maintenance of high-quality, well-managed neighborhoods.
- The Central Arizona Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAC-CAI) serves the educational and networking needs of community associations in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Members include condominium, cooperative, and homeowner associations as well as those who provide services and products to associations.
- The Leadership Centre provides Arizona residents with information, resources and tools to become effective neighborhood and community leaders. The Centre offers a large variety of Community Leadership Classes and Mediation Training and Workshops throughout the year.
- Arizona State Government website contains useful information for new residents and details concerning government services.
- Major city government websites are a great general purpose resource to understand community trends, profile data, newcomer’s information and neighborhood associations. Links are provided for the Phoenix, Gilbert, Chandler and Queen Creek municipal sites.
- Phoenix Area Chambers of Commerce represent many geographic areas of the region and wide business interests. Links are provided for the Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe Chambers.
