Unlike a municipal government, they are not subject to the constitutional constraints that public government must abide by.
  • State of Florida Government website contains useful information for new residents and details concerning government services, agencies and state laws.
  • Major city and county government websites are a great general purpose resource to understand community trends, profile data, newcomer’s information and neighborhood associations. Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater all have useful municipal content. Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco County sites have information on county services.
  • University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences has Extension offices in each of Florida’s sixty-seven counties. Each office has information specific to their county on regulatory and conservation issues, Florida-friendly landscaping and urban/community forestry.
