Members of the Sentry Boise team joined others in Treasure Valley on Saturday, November 16, for the 34th annual Rake Up Boise event to rake up leaves for members of the community that are unable to do it themselves.  The team raked leaves for three homes and filled 63 bags. This year more than 7,000 community volunteers raked the leaves of more than 800 homes of seniors and disabled individuals.

“We were tired at the end of the day, but it’s such a great feeling to help others in our community that truly need help,” explained Christian Brockl, a community manager who organized the Sentry team. “Boise is the City of Trees which makes our community beautiful.  At the end of the season, though, there’s much to be done to prepare the city for winter,” Christian added.  The bags of leaves are collected by the City and recycled for use as mulch in city parks.

“The Sentry Boise office has a staff that enjoys working together and getting together outside of the office to support such a local cause was fun for those who participated,” added Patricia Liddell, Vice President.

Rake Up Boise is an annual event sponsored by Neighborworks Boise® whose mission is to lead in creating innovative housing solutions for underserved populations through strategic partnerships that contribute to building stronger communities.
