Sentry Management’s Loudoun office hosted a Board education class on Complaints and Dispute Mediation. The session was led by Laura Poole, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Sentry Management Division Manager and Kathleen Machado, Shareholder in the Community Association Practice Group with Rees, Broome, PC.
The session was well attended by local HOA and condominium association Board members, and provided guidance on the statutory requirements for handling owner complaints and neighbor to neighbor disputes. Kathleen and Laura fielded Board questions and reviewed practical and legal strategies for addressing this complex issue.
“Community leaders are often unsure of where their responsibility lies in regard to complaints and neighbor to neighbor disputes. Our goal in this session was to provide tools and guidance to prepare Boards to navigate this very complicated part of their role. One of the benefits of this type of session is that Board members can meet their peers from other communities and share ideas and strategies for addressing these issues,” Laura explained.
