Royal Harbor, a Sentry-managed community located in Tavares, FL has been making teddy bears and blankets to donate to the campers who attend the Boggy Creek Camp since 2002. Boggy Creek is a local camp that allows children with serious illnesses and their families to go camping together.
Since its creation, the Bear Club in 2002, 6,500 bears and blankets have been donated. The members of the club stuff the bears and color coordinate them with the blankets.
Royal Harbor Community Association Manager, Katie Ciccotelli comments on the communities actions, “It has been truly remarkable to witness the countless and selfless volunteer hours that the women of Royal Harbor Bear Club have effortlessly donated while making bears and matching afghans. Their imagination, creativity, passion, and commitment to helping children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses at Camp Boggy Creek is truly inspiring.”
